I'm going to start using this journal in rplanguageclub to try to improve my Japanese... so I really couldn't care less whether I'm IC, but please feel free to crit me on my butchering of the language. It'll help me learn. \o/

Clothing/appearance:
Flonne always wears her little leotard-dress-thing, for she is a video game character, and needs not your changes of clothes!

Habits/mannerisms/body language:
Flonne is extremely friendly with everyone, almost always smiling. She's very sincere about her emotions. Though she loves hugs, does possess has a modicum of politeness and will not glomp/pinch/poke/raep people she doesn't know well.

Current Residence:
Boys' 6

Typical Daily Routine:
Flonne sleeps in late, takes her meals in the mess hall, and despite all her talk of LOVE and PEACE and JOY and MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD, she spends most of her time watching cartoons and following Laharl around like a puppy.

Favourite Haunts:
Boys' 6, the mess hall, the playground, wherever Laharl-san wants to go.

Does she make her own bed?:
Yes, but she does it badly.

Being a fallen angel - for those who haven't had the joy of playing Disgaea

Hi! I'm a fallen angel! :D

Flonne has nothing to hide whatsoever. She should be obviously not human, due to the pointed ears, wings, and tail. They're not visibly apparent in all of her icons, but they're always there, so please, feel free to notice! Also, if your character senses auras/powers/angels/demons/WHATEVER, again, please feel free (permissions/info meme here). Whether she would register as an angel or a demon or something in between... well, I'll leave that up to your character. It's not something that's relevant to Flonne or her canon. Her personality has not changed at all since the fall, and neither have her powers. She still thinks of herself as an angel, but she's not going to be pissed if you call her a demon. Some of her best friends are demons, after all.

Why Flonne is a fallen angel to begin with

Quite a few people have asked this ICly, and Flonne is happy to tell the story. That having been said, it's usually not the whole story... partially because Flonne is being modest, partially because she doesn't really understand or know how to convey everything that happened, and partially because her player wants to streamline it because it's something that gets asked a lot. But here's how it goes:

Flonne works for Seraph Lamington, who's more-or-less in charge of Celestia. He sends her to the Netherworld to assassinate the Overlord, and because she trusts him, she goes. Once she arrives, she finds out the Overlord's been dead for two years. ANTICS HAPPEN. The Archangel Vulcanus gets all jealous of Flonne and starts stalking her and being a big jerk. He also manipulates the Earth Defense Force to attack the Netherworld, 'cause again, a big jerk.

The party finds out that the humans were being manipulated by angels, so Flonne insists on going back to Celestia to get some answers. At that point, they are attacked by angels, and they have to fight their way through them. Just before the last battle of the game, Flonne is turned into a flower by Lamington in exchange for her sins (she also asks to take any punishment for the rest of the party). The reason Lamington gives for this is that she has harmed other angels. After the battle, Laharl spares Lamington's life, and Flonne is transformed again into a fallen angel. Mid-Boss shows up and explains what he and Lamington have been doing the whole time - namely, that Flonne was sent to the Netherworld in order to make peace between the two worlds.

So yes, Flonne was technically punished for fighting with Vulcanus and the other angels the party beats on the way in, but that's not really important. The real reason she was turned into a fallen angel is so that she can be an ambassador to the Netherworld. She is still in good standing with Celestia, and there is no emo whatsoever attached to the transformation.

ANGELDAR

Flonne can kindasorta sense auras. It's one of those things that comes up once in canon but isn't anything actually useful. She's pinged by angels in particular, and she has a thing for demons as well. That having been said, Flonne is extremely blonde and won't always notice things. I'll do my best to read permissions memes and not overstep anything, but IF ANYONE DOES NOT WANT FLONNE TO NOTICE THEM, PLS SAY SO. Also, you can tell her IC not to tell anyone and she... well, she'll try VERY HARD NOT TO, and... actually, scratch that. Telling her not to is a better way to guarantee that she WILL end up telling someone by accident.

Flonne's abilities part II: Things that are actually relevant to CFUD

Wings/flight

Despite the fact that nearly all of the characters have wings, flight isn't something that's addressed in Disgaea. In the course of battle, the only characters with the ability to "fly" are Tink (a flying frog) and a couple of the monster classes, and all that entails is that they can move through enemies and objects rather than around them. They still can't fly over gaps, as one would logically think; they have to be picked up and thrown like everyone else.

But despite that, evidence would indicate that the wings aren't entirely ornamental. In the animated sequences (the ones that come in the game, mind you - I've only seen the first few episodes of the anime and what I saw I hated), various characters have been shown to fly briefly. Etna's wings grow and flap when she's hopping off of a prinny, and Flonne's wings grow in one of her attacks. The indication is that the older a demon/angel is, the bigger their wings are, but that's not like a rule, and game mechanics aside, I'd have to think about it a little longer...

But yes, Flonne can use her wings if she has to, but she won't have any inclination to do so. It's much easier for her to walk/jump/be thrown. Speaking of which...

Throw

Flonne can pick you up and throw you, even if you are twice her size... 4 squares would be 15-20 feet or so, I'd think. Don't worry, though; she trusts you about that far, too.

Tail

Yes, the tail is prehensile.

High level lolz

Look at it this way - in most RPGs, you're capped at 99, so it's not really unreasonable to say that most humans are probably capped at 99. ~~Gordon and Jennifer are speical or something Iunno.~~ If you came from a Final Fantasy and you were on level 99, you'd have comparable stats to a Disgaea character on level 99... not exactly the same, and the Disgaea character would have waaaaaaay better equipment, but in the same ballpark.

Flonne is on level 600.

That puts her in league with, if not the bigtime godmodders ~~for the record, Il Palazzo is on level 9,999~~, at least the shonen retards (the way I look at it, if I have to level up for hours just to beat her, you do, too).

Fighting in general

Flonne is good with both ranged attacks and magic. Her biggest weakness is melee battle, due to low defense and inability to dodge and counter. Ideally, you'd put her behind someone who can block off enemies while she's sniping.

Above all, though, she's a very powerful healer.

ANY QUESTIONS on what Flonne can/can't do can go here, and maybe more stuff if/when I think of it.

All right! I actually ventured downstairs for the guidebook!

In her appearance in the game, she's level 500, not 600. Mine is still around level 600 'CAUSE I SAY SO. Besides, Laharl goes from being like level 1200 in chapter 11 to level 500 in this bonus stage where you get Flonne to 1000 in the stage where you get him. (Did he reincarnate between chapters? What a bold move, Laharl-san~)

In Disgaea 1 she throws 4 panels (29dm high), but the guidebook for Digaea 2 says she only throws 3. Either way, there are way better people for throwing.

I'll be adding her CURRENT stats... once I actually get her on my team. And probably also writing an essay about her abilities that's comprehendable to people who aren't as obsessed with Disgaea as I am.

Mentionable IC: Once again, anything! You'd be hard-pressed to emo up the love freak.
Abilities: Stats are here, and actually relevant stuff is here. In short! If you're a normal person, SHE WILL FUCK YOUR SHIT UP. ~~But you can always surround her and shoot her for a few rounds, that's how I beat her! :Db~~ Flonne is a magically-inclined character who has an innate bonus to healing spells. She's good with staves, bows, and (to a lesser but more awesome extent), guns. Her coolest attack is Flonnezilla, where she puts on a Godzilla costume (complete with model planes), grows to giant size, and RAMPAGES.

Notes for the Psychics: Flonne is incredibly straightforward. If she seems happy, she's happy. If she's squinting, she's sad. (Yeah, I don't know.) Also, she's FULL OF LOVE. It rolls off her in waves.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Knock yourself out! She's a big girl; she can handle it.
Maim/Murder/Death: I don't think it'll be an issue because Flonne loves everyone and is super-tough, but hurting her really isn't a big deal. She saves.
Cooking: Haha no. Without people to feed her, she will starve. Or just eat ramen forever.
Kissing/Hugging: Hugging is all right! Kissing will result in violence.

Character: Flonne
Series: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness / Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories
Character Age: 1512 (the angel/demon equivalent of 15)

Canon: As an angel trainee, Flonne was sent to the Netherworld to assassinate its overlord. This plan met with a sudden snag when, upon arriving, she found out that he'd been dead for two years. Learning that the overlord's son Laharl didn't seem to care about his death, she decided to tag along with the shouta maou for awhile to learn whether demons are are capable of love. Throughout the course of the game, Flonne remains eternally optimistic and painfully upbeat, bombarding the group with enough love and friendship to nauseate a Care Bear. Eventually, a little of her attitude rubs off on them, and vice versa.

While seeking out the goodness of demons, Flonne winds up stumbling into the corruption of angels. She heads home to confront her boss, and learns that the entire assassination plot was simply to see whether it were possible to make peace between Celestia and the Netherworld. Despite having successfully accomplished this, she is told that she will be punished for harming other angels and is turned into a flower. In the good ending, nobody has to die and Flonne becomes a fallen angel. This is a cosmetic difference at best and has not changed her passion for superheroes, multiversal peace, and occasional justified violence.

I know it's natural for zombies to be friends with zombies and wood orcs to be friends with wood orcs and tentacle monsters to be friends with... well, not anybody.
